Find a babysitter in your area

May 24th, 2007 by Deanne

Are you having trouble finding a babysitter, especially one that lives near you or has availability that is compatible with your needs?  There is an online service that provides a list of babysitters in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.  You can search the list by post office code or city.  You can also indicate any preferences you have regarding the age and gender of potential babysitters.  This service also provides lists of available Tagesmutters and au pairs.  The babysitter provides some brief information about himself or herself, including the dates and times that he/she is available, as well as contact information.  As far as I can tell, there is no screening done on the individuals listed on the website.  The responsibility lies with the hiring family to screen the potential employee. The website is in German, but is easy to negotiate.  Presumably, the babysitters are German-speaking.
