The Missing Image

March 7th, 2007 by Deanne

I know of one video store that has a large collection of video titles in English, The Missing Image.  Titles in other languages, including German, French, Japanese, etc. are also available.  The store is small. They tend to carry more “art films” than blockbusters, although they do have a few blockbusters.  They typically have only one copy of each film, so sometimes you have to be patient if you want a really popular one.  I had to wait 3 weeks to get a copy of “Sideways”.  They also have several English language TV series available, such as ”Friends”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Freaks & Geeks”.  There is an excellent website, in English, that lists all of the available movies and offers commentary on many of the titles.

If you know of other English-language video stores, please add a comment to this post, or add a new post by sending an email to munich_kids@yahoo.com

You can also rent videos online. I use lovefilm.de and it works like Netflix. The places online have a greater selection than the stores, but browsing is kind of clunky.
